I went to Singapore for five days and did a lot of touristy things, so I thought I'd introduce all the places I went to/things I did. The temperature wasn't as hot as I thought it'd be; it was around 28 to 30°C while I was there at the end of June.
NATIONAL GALLERY SINGAPORE
National Gallery Singapore had a lot of interesting collections, ranging across all time periods, from the beginning of Singapore's history to modern and digital art. National Gallery Singapore is free for all Singapore citizens, as well as all students and teachers, so make sure to bring your student ID to get in for free.
There were also lots of cute photobooths, which makes it really fun to go through the gallery even if you aren't really into art.
SINGAPORE BOTANIC GARDEN
The Singapore Botanic Garden was free, so my friend and I decided to take a walk around while we were passing by. I loved how dark and luscious all the greenery was, and there were lots of diverse flowers in full bloom all around the garden. There was also a Swan Lake with two swans but they kept playing hide-and-seek so I couldn't get any proper photos.
UNIVERSAL STUDIOS SINGAPORE
We took the Sentosa Express to Waterfront Station, where Universal Studios Singapore is located. We went on a Tuesday non-holiday but there were still a lot of people so we ended up buying the express pass. The express pass is S$50 for one pass per ride and S$90 for unlimited. I would recommend buying the express pass especially if there's a lot of people because the popular rides all have at least 60 minute waiting times, whereas with the express pass we rarely had to wait more than 5 minutes.
There were also characters walking around the photobooths located at several different spots across the amusement park. When you take photos, you can either buy the picture they take for you or ask them to take a picture on your camera for free.
SKYLINE LUGE
We took the Sentosa Express to Beach Station in order to get to Skyline Luge. Once you buy a ticket for the Sentosa Express at VivoCity, you can go back and forth on it as many times as you want. Once you arrive at Beach Station, turn right and head straight and you'll see Skyline Luge.
We decided to buy the 3 Skyride + 3 Luge deal for S$25. I would definitely recommend buying a package deal because it's so much cheaper than buying individual Skyride/Luge tickets and you definitely will want to ride more than once.
You aren't allowed to take your own photos once you get up to the Luge (their regulations, not sure why) and during the Luge (since you have to keep both hands on the handles at all times) but they take a picture of you during the ride down that you can buy and they'll also give you a link where you can download the picture online.
GEYLANG SERAI HARI RAYA BAZAAR
The Geylang Serai Hari Raya Bazaar is a Muslim bazaar open during Ramadan. It starts in the late afternoon/early evening, around the time the sun goes down. It was super busy with lots of people everywhere and there was so much food, we only walked 50 meters and had already tried 10 different dishes. There was also a watermelon punch that was really cute, but the line was way too long for us to bother waiting.
HAJI LANE
Haji Lane is literally a lane with aesthetically-pleasing buildings and cute shops, cafes, and bars on either side.
BAR STORIES
Bar Stories is a bar in Haji Lane. It's on the second floor and the door of the building it's in is pretty sketchy so it was kind of difficult to find at first. The way you order drinks was pretty unique. Rather than selecting from a menu, you could tell the bartender what kind of flavor you wanted and he would concoct an appropriate drink.
My drink came in a bottle inside of a book, which was super cool
BROTHER BIRD
Brother Bird / Stateland Cafe is two-cafes-combined-into-one in Haji Lane. Brother Bird sells only desserts, most famously ice cream with mochi donut. Stateland Cafe sells other dishes and drinks. The interior is very cozy, so it'd be a good place to sit down and grab something to eat or a sweet dessert.
Here's a vlog I took over the five days in Singapore:
